About Watch Your Setup
Welcome to Watch Your Setup, a website dedicated to various aspects of exercise and weight training. In a previous incarnation we largely concentrated on weight training and the specific techniques that will keep you safe and uninjured. These guides were also designed to help you get the most out of your workouts.
In this newly designed website we’re going to continue to the weight training guidance but also expand it to include aerobic exercise such as cycling, running and swimming. All three are great exercises which can complement your weight training in numerous ways. They’ll also help burn off that extra fat that you may not be able to shift just by lifting weights.
Running is the easiest form of aerobic exercise in which to participate; put your trainers on and head outside. As you get more serious you can upgrade your training shoes and make your workout more effective.
Cycling is a personal favourite and involves a little more preparation but the benefits you’ll get from it are fantastic. Again, as your interest grows, you can upgrade your bike and make your rides more challenging.
Finally swimming is a great aerobic exercise. If you live in a cold country or don’t live by the sea you will have to go to a gym or a local pool to get your fix but that’s the only drawback. Swimming can be ideal for those who’s knees or other joints are past their best and for whom running may be an unwise activity.
We also take a look at some less well known forms of weight training for those who may need a change of direction from the usual lifting and grunting. Kettlebells are a good example, a well-established and proven method of building strength but one which is not widely known.
